Overview

Ansible Government Solutions, LLC (Ansible) is currently recruiting a psychiatrist to provide outpatient onsite services to eligible beneficiaries of the Central Alabama Veterans Health Care Systems primarily located at 2400 Hospital Road, Tuskegee, AL 36083. This is a 1099 position, and the schedule is typically Monday-Friday with call. If you accept employment with Ansible, you must also acknowledge that any assigned schedule is subject to change at the direction of either Ansible or its customers.

Responsibilities 
  • Provide inpatient and outpatient psychiatric care
  • Diagnose and treat patients with severe and persistent mental illness
  • Conduct psychiatric evaluations and medication management
  • Develop and manage treatment plans
  • Admit, manage, and discharge psychiatric patients
  • Provide follow‑up care and post‑discharge evaluations
  • Complete E‑consults and disposition evaluations
  • See new patient referrals within required VA timelines (generally 30 days)
  • Participate in emergency psychiatric coverage and consults
  • Collaborate with VA mental health staff and interdisciplinary teams
  • 6–6.5 bookable patient hours per day
    • Typically:
      • 6 one‑hour appointments or
      • 12 half‑hour appointments (or a mix)
  • Phone consultation with VA residents and physicians
  • Emergency mental health coverage when clinic is closed
  • Potential on‑site response for on-call if required
  • Medical record documentation in VA EHR
  • Participation in:
    • Quality Improvement (QI) activities
    • Peer reviews
    • Staff and prescriber meetings
  • Supervision and education of health profession trainees (residents, fellows)
  • Compliance with patient safety reporting and VA policies
Qualifications
  • MD or DO
  • Active, unrestricted medical license in any U.S. state or territory
    • No history of restriction, suspension, or revocation
  • Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
    • American Board of Psychiatry and Neurology (ABPN)
  • BLS and ACLS certification (current)
  • DEA license (active)
  • National Provider Identifier (NPI) (active or obtainable)
  • Must be able to pass a federal background investigation

All candidates must be able to:

  • Sit, stand, walk, lift, squat, bend, twist, and reach above shoulders during the work shift
  • Lift up to 50 lbs from floor to waist
  • Lift up to 20 lbs
  • Carry up to 40 lbs a reasonable distance
  • Push/pull with 30 lbs of force
