Required Skills:
- Valid active medical license to practice psychiatry
- Proven experience in inpatient psychiatric settings
- Ability to perform patient evaluations, develop treatment plans, and manage medication therapies
- Strong clinical judgment and excellent communication skills
- Ability to sign off on IVC paperwork within 24 hours and collaborate effectively with FNPs and nursing staff
- Flexibility to handle call-backs and varying patient census
Nice to Have Skills:
- Additional certifications in psychiatric care or substance abuse treatment
- Prior experience with BHU or trauma units
- Proficiency in electronic health record systems
- Experience with medication management in high-volume settings
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Medical degree (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
- Minimum of 2 years of inpatient psychiatric experience
- Appropriate board certification in psychiatry
Other Requirements:
- Availability on specified coverage dates (April 2 - April 16; June 4 - June 18)
- Willingness to work in a 14-bed inpatient unit with rounding responsibilities
- Compensation includes hourly pay at $1.00/hour, with additional benefits and reimbursements applicable as outlined below
