Job Title: District Speech and Language Pathologist

Job Summary
The Stratford Public Schools is seeking a dedicated and dynamic Speech and Language Pathologist to support the diverse communication needs of our elementary students. The successful candidate will evaluate, diagnose, and treat speech, language, and communication disorders while collaborating with educators, families, and multidisciplinary teams to ensure that every student achieves their fullest potential.
Key Responsibilities
Assessment & Evaluation:
Analyze assessment data to identify communication strengths and areas of need.
Intervention & Therapy:
Provide direct, evidence-based speech and language therapy interventions in both individual and small group settings.
Collaboration & Consultation:
Serve as a consultant to parents, caregivers, and school staff by offering guidance on communication development and strategies to support student success.
Documentation & Reporting:
Prepare comprehensive reports for IEP meetings, progress updates, and administrative purposes.
Professional Development:
Contribute to the development and implementation of district-wide initiatives related to student communication and language development.
Qualifications
Education:
Licensure/Certification:
Certification from a recognized professional body (e.g., ASHA Certificate of Clinical Competence) is preferred.
Experience:
Familiarity with the IEP process and special education regulations.
Skills & Competencies:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skills.
Ability to adapt strategies to meet the diverse needs of students.
Proficient in maintaining accurate documentation and utilizing technology for data management.
Working Conditions
Environment:
Some positions may require travel between schools within the district.
