Psychologist - Office of Student Support

Job Title: School Psychologist FLSA Status: Exempt Reports to: Director of Special Education and Student Support Supervises: n/a Pay Grade: Teacher Salary Schedule Term of Employment: 10 months

SUMMARY: To work with students, families and school staff to identify and address learning and behavior problems that interfere with school success.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Education: a. Required - Master's Degree in School Psychology (and eligible for internship) or Educational Specialist Degree in School Psychologist
2. Certifications: a. Valid WI School Psychologist license

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

1. Completes the IDEA due process for eligibility determinations
2. Evaluates initial eligibility for Section 504 protections
3. Coordinate and facilitate IEP Evaluation and Section 504 evaluation meetings.
4. Serves as LEA at Evaluation and IEP meetings.
5. Participates in building collaboration to identify and address areas where students are not making progress at a reasonable rate, or above expected levels.
6. Analyzes student, building and district data related to student progress.
7. Supports students' social, emotional and behavioral health.
8. Participates in building and district initiatives related to academics, social and emotional and behavioral skills to increase student learning and performance.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

1. Excellent communication and collaboration skills
2. Knowledge of special education law and the evaluation process
3. Understanding of child and adolescent development and learning theory.
4. Knowledge of assessment procedures and instruments applicable for students aged 3-21
5. Experienced with special education and multi-cultural topics, procedures, and laws
6. Familiar with current research based universal screening and progress monitoring tools
7. Strong interpersonal skills including the ability to facilitate effective meetings and promote cooperation and communication among each group.
8. Demonstrates integrity, courage, conviction, ethical behavior, sound leadership judgment and dedication to professional growth.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS Must be able to remain in a stationary position for long periods of time; occasionally required to move about inside the office to access file cabinets, office machinery, etc.; consistently and repetitively operates a computer and other office machinery such as calculator, copy machine and/or computer printer; regularly required to communicate and exchange accurate information with administration, staff, and the public.
