Job Description:

SCHOOL: New Fairfield Elementary School

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Conduct psychological and psychoeducational evaluations to support the identification of students educational, behavioral, and social-emotional needs.
• Participate as an active member of Planning and Placement Team (PPT) meetings, Child Study Team (CST) meetings, and other multidisciplinary planning teams.
• Maintain accurate and timely clinical progress notes, evaluation reports, and other required documentation in accordance with district, state, and federal guidelines.
• Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents/guardians, and related service providers to develop and implement individualized educational programs and appropriate interventions.
• Provide individual and group counseling services to support students social, emotional, behavioral, and academic success.
• Consult with school staff regarding effective instructional practices, behavioral supports, crisis intervention, and strategies to promote student learning and well-being.
• Assist in the development of positive school climate initiatives and support compliance with special education regulations and best practices.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• Valid Connecticut School Psychologist Certification (070) or New York Certified and able to apply for CT Certification.
• Demonstrated knowledge of psychoeducational assessment, special education procedures, counseling techniques, and evidence-based interventions.

SALARY: Per NFEA Collective Bargaining Agreement
