What You’ll Do:
  • Conduct psychological assessments, screenings, and evaluations based on inmate records and interviews
  • Develop, implement, and modify individualized treatment plans for inmate mental health needs
  • Perform regular rounds in various housing units to monitor inmate adjustment and mental health status
  • Provide crisis intervention, counseling, and confrontation avoidance techniques
  • Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including psychiatrists, medical staff, social workers, and security personnel
  • Ensure comprehensive documentation and follow-up on inmate mental health care
  • Maintain compliance with all facility policies and licensing requirements

What You Need:
  • Active or eligible license to practice psychology in Mississippi
  • At least 1 year of related mental health experience, preferably in correctional settings
  • Strong knowledge of psychological counseling techniques and assessments
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
