Primary Duties and Responsibilities

The Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior is seeking to hire a part-time Psychologist to join our Youth Stress and Mood (YSAM) Program, a nationally recognized program dedicated to improving the mental and physical health of youth through the development and evaluation of treatments for depression, self-harm, and suicide prevention. Key responsibilities include:

  • Conducting clinical evaluations, treatment, and care coordination for youth participants
  • Implementing established research and clinical protocols
  • Maintaining accurate documentation and supporting regulatory compliance activities
  • Collaborating with program leadership and site teams to support program operations and objectives
  • Assisting with program implementation, data review, reports, presentations, and other dissemination activities
  • Participating in quality assurance efforts, including treatment adherence review and feedback

Please note: this is a limited position that may convert to career

Salary range: $61.47/hr - $81.06/hr

Job Qualifications

Phd or PsyD in Clinical Psychology or related field from an accredited institution

Current and valid California Psychologist License

Training in psychopathology and psychotherapy, with a focus on depression, suicide, prevention, and self-harm intervention (experience is preferred)

Experience providing assessment and treatment services to children and adolescents

Experience working with youth experiencing depression, self-harm, suicidal ideation, and/or suicidal behaviors (preferred)

Knowledge of clinical research methods, including data collection, data management, and research protocol implementation

Ability to evaluate emotional, behavioral, and mental health conditions in children and adolescence and develop appropriate treatment recommendations

Ability to provide evidence-based interventions and collaborate in developing treatment plans for youth and their families

Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills

Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary clinical and research team

Ability to manage multiple priorities and maintain accurate clinical and research documentation

Flexibility to work a varied schedule based on program and patient needs
