Psychriatric Nurse Practitioner

Fourth Street Clinic seeks a Psychiatric APRN interested in working in a progressive behavioral health program. Integrated medical and behavioral healthcare teams ensure patients have access to various services. Behavioral health services focus on screening, assessments, and prescribing psychotropic medications. Nurse Practitioners act as treatment providers and advocates, helping clients gain access to resources while addressing their behavioral health needs, including mental illness and substance use disorders. This position will work primarily in the main clinic and may involve some limited hours on the mobile bus. Duties & ResponsibilitiesThe following information is intended to be representative of the essential functions performed by incumbents in this position and is not all-inclusive.Serve as an integrated team member and work to ensure patients have access to whole-person care, including medical, pharmaceutical, and dental services.Perform complete psychiatric diagnostic interviews and examinations, including assessment of mental health and substance abuse concerns.Create appropriate treatment plans to include medications, psychotherapy, and appropriate diagnostic and laboratory interventions.Prescribe psychotropic medications.Collaborate with the primary care team in developing care management processes such as using guidelines, disease management techniques, case management, and patient education to improve chronic disease self-management.Provide assessment, consultation, and brief intervention for mental health concerns.Maintain accurate and timely documentation of all clinical encounters in the clinic's electronic health record.Follow HIPAA confidentiality guidelines.Maintains professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, establishing personal networks, and participating in professional associations.Necessary skills/attributesEthical and professional behavior.Demonstrates excellent communication skills.Desire to work with diverse and vulnerable populations.Interact and collaborate with professionals from many different social service and government agencies.Ability to work quickly when needed and flexibility with scheduling, must be able to remain calm in tense and/or chaotic situations.Supervisory RelationshipsThis position reports to the Behavioral Health DirectorQualificationsGraduate of an accredited programDEA number or eligibilityNPI numberLicensed in the State of Utah with a current unrestricted APRN license.Bilingual English/Spanish desirable
