Job Description

The Union County Sheriff's office is seeking a Part-Time Administrative Assistant.  This position is responsible for supporting the Full-Time Administrative Assistant with preparing and processing a variety of complex and confidential reports, forms, and correspondence, filing and maintaining departmental records.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide courteous customer service in person and by telephone.
  • Answer questions and provide information regarding Sheriff's Office services, procedures, and forms.
  • Prepare, type, proofread, and distribute correspondence, reports, forms, notices, and other documents.
  • Process and maintain a variety of records and documentation.
  • Enter and retrieve information from computer systems and databases.
  • Maintain organized filing systems, including electronic records.
  • Scan, file, retrieve, and securely dispose of confidential records in accordance with record retention requirements.
  • Research information and compile administrative and statistical data.
  • Assist with scheduling, calendars, and general office support.
  • Communicate effectively with County officials, court personnel, law enforcement agencies, attorneys, and the public.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of clerical or administrative experience, or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office and general office technology.
  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain strict confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
