General Function
Performs a variety of administrative and counseling duties that assist students in making carer decisions, meeting employers, and managing the job search process.
Duties and Responsibilities
Counsels students regarding the career development process, including administering and interpreting career assessment instruments such as the Meyers Briggs Inventory, Strong Interest Inventory.
Designs and implements outreach programs to promote and encourage use of career services by students, faculty, and staff.
Advises students individually and in class presentations regarding résumé writing, interviewing and job search skills.
Develops promotional materials and strategies for the department.
Assists students in finding career information on the web.
Contributes content to assigned webpages or marketing materials.
Serves as a liaison to assigned academic departments, works collaboratively with faculty members to promote and provide career services.
Assists employers and and works as part of a cross-functional team to host hiring and student development events.
Advises and counsels undecided students through the career development process.
Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements and Preferred Qualifications
Master's Degree from an accredited institution in Counseling, Student Development or a related field and one year experience in career counseling (in a college career services office or related setting preferred)
