Key Responsibilities
Develop independent cost estimates for projects at various stages of planning and design.
Prepare economic analyses, cash flow forecasts, and contingency assessments.
Produce detailed and conceptual cost estimates with minimal supervision.
Conduct site visits to verify existing conditions and evaluate proposed modifications or repairs.
Support pricing discussions and contract negotiations.
Perform budgeting, cost estimating, and financial analysis activities.
Analyze drawings, specifications, sketches, and layouts to determine labor, material, and equipment costs.
Prepare quantity takeoffs and verify mathematical and technical accuracy of estimates.
Review proposals, contracts, and change orders to assess project scope and cost impacts.
Obtain and evaluate vendor and subcontractor quotations for materials and services.
Maintain historical cost databases, estimating standards, and construction cost information.
Work closely with project managers to ensure compliance with financial, regulatory, grant, and federal procurement requirements.
Participate in client, stakeholder, and project presentations as needed.
Travel periodically to project locations to support site assessments and estimating activities.
Experienced Cost Estimator responsible for developing accurate project cost estimates throughout all phases of project development. Skilled in conceptual and detailed estimating, cost analysis, budgeting, cash flow forecasting, contract review, and construction cost management. Collaborates with project managers, contractors, and stakeholders to ensure estimates comply with financial, regulatory, grant, and procurement requirements while supporting successful project delivery.
