Position Summary
Position Summary: The Facilities Project Technician is responsible for performing assigned projects, including parking lot striping and assisting with the routine maintenance and minor construction projects.

Duties and Responsibilities
Duties and Responsibilities: Within the scope of college policies and procedures, this position:
Provides project support to facilities managers as assigned
Assists with the routine maintenance and minor construction projects and repairs of college buildings and equipment, to include furniture assembly and installation
Performs other duties as assigned

Education and Experience; Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Education and Experience Requirements:
High School Diploma or equivalent
Two years' related work experience
Possess a valid state-issued driver's license and must meet and maintain a driving record to be approved
for coverage under the college's motor vehicle insurance policy
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge of and ability to follow college policies and procedures
Knowledge of the proper operation of and the ability to use personal computers and standard office equipment
Knowledge of or ability to follow building codes, safety regulations, and work safety practices
Knowledge of or ability to perform preventative and general maintenance
Knowledge of or ability to learn construction trade practices
Skill in or ability to use construction equipment and hand tools
Ability to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, and to relate to others in a professional, helpful manner
Ability to multi-task and organize, prioritize, and follow multiple projects and tasks through to completion with an attention to detail
Ability to effectively identify and resolve problems and to maintain strict confidentiality related to sensitive information
Ability to work independently while contributing to a team environment
Work Environment & Physical Requirements
Work Environment: Work is primarily performed under general supervision in an office setting with appropriate climate controls and outdoors with varying climate conditions. May work with potentially hazardous chemicals including, but not limited to, cleaning agents.
Physical Requirements: Essential functions of this position require: manual dexterity, the ability to
communicate, lifting, kneeling, squatting, climbing, crawling, stooping, turning/twisting, balancing,
reaching, and handling with varying frequencies.
Medium work: Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or up to 20 pounds of force frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull or otherwise move objects, including the human body; involves sitting only occasionally, walking and standing are required regularly, incumbents may be required to kneel, crouch/squat, crawl, climb, stoop, turn/twist, balance, reach, or handle
Mental Application: Utilizes memory for details, verbal instructions, emotional stability, critical thinking, adaptability, and creative problem-solving skills are important
