Ball State University Dining has an opportunity for a PT Cashier position. Come and join the Ball State University Dining team on the beautiful Ball State campus and help create excellent customer service experiences for students, faculty, staff and employees! This position may work up to 35 hours per week.
Please note that the wage for this position is $16.94/hour.

What you'll do and what you'll bring:
Position Function: Under supervision, perform duties related to collection and recording of monies.
Duties & Responsibilities:
Requires the ability to perform basic mathematical calculations, efficiently operate a calculator, read and comprehend written materials, and be detail-oriented.
Requires the ability to walk/stand for extended periods of time. Task requires the visual ability to direct customers to key areas. Employee is exposed to inside environmental conditions.
Requires the physical ability to grasp, push, pull, stoop, crouch, reach, walk, stand, lift, feel, have dexterity and strength in hands, and exert up to 20 pounds of force occasionally and 10 pounds of force frequently. Task requires the visual ability to perceive depth.
Requires the ability to read and comprehend written materials, perform basic mathematical calculations, grasp and handle objects, and be detail-oriented. Task requires the ability to provide written instructions and information.
Requires the ability to use computerized card reader, cash register, terminals, calculators, and scales. Task requires the mental ability to receive, comprehend, follow and provide oral instructions.
Requires the ability to read and comprehend written materials and efficiently operate computerized machinery. Task requires the physical ability to grasp, push, pull, stoop, crouch, reach, walk, stand, lift, feel, and have dexterity and strength in hands.

Minimum Qualifications:
1.Successful completion of Cashier Training Class and passing score on final test is required for positions with cashiering duties.
2.Must have clean body, teeth, hair, nails, and clothing.
3.No allergies to soaps, cleaning agents, oven cleaners, or other materials or environmental factors in food service, e.g., steam, dust, etc.
4.Must be able to read and comprehend all specified policies and procedures for safety, hazardous materials information, and University policies, procedures, and communications.
5.Must be able to communicate effectively both orally and in writing in the English language.
6.Must be able to perform all physical and mental requirements outlined in each job duty/responsibility.
7.You must be 18 years or older.
Preferred Qualifications:
1.Previous experience in cashiering and using a computerized cash register. Experience in fast food, snack bar, dairy bar, or similar commercial establishment.
