Position Description
DEFINITION:The Part Time OSHA 10 Training Instructor will provide classroom instruction to E&WD students through lecture and demonstration on topics related to safety in general industry.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED:Receives general supervision from Workforce Training CoordinatorExercises no supervision
Duties & Responsibilities (Essential Functions)
ESSENTIAL AND OTHER IMPORTANT FUNCTIONS STATEMENTS:Essential and other important responsibilities and duties may include, but are not limited to, the following:Essential Functions:Provide classroom and laboratory instruction in keeping with OSHA-approved requirements and procedures for the 10-hour General Industry training topicsPrepare lesson plans and schedule classroom activitiesDevelop and prepare supplemental materials to enhance lesson plansDevelop and prepare tests to evaluate student performance; grade and record individual scoresProvide classroom demonstrations on various equipmentMaintain accurate records of student attendance and performance; maintain other records according to program needs or accreditation requirementsOther Important Functions:Perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned
Qualifications
QUALIFICATIONS:Knowledge of:Course requirements for OSHA 10 CertificationPrinciples and procedures of recordkeepingPrinciples and procedures of academic and instructional administration in the area of assignmentIntroductory information regarding OSHA for General Industry, including but not limited to:Walking and working surfaces, including fall protectionExit routes, emergency action plans, fire prevention plans and fire protectionElectrical safetyPersonal protective equipmentHazard communicationHazardous materials & safety data sheetsMachine guardingLockout/tagoutBloodborne pathogens

EXPERIENCE AND TRAINING GUIDELINES:Any combination of experience and training that would likely provide the required knowledge and abilities is qualifying. A typical way to obtain the knowledge and abilities would be: Minimum Education/Training:High School Diploma or equivalentOSHA 10 Instructor CertificateCompletion of OSHA 30 Course Minimum Experience:5 years' experience in general industry Preferred Education/Training, Experience, Skills:none
