Job Summary and Responsibilities/Duties

Job Summary
Provides direct support to student veterans and eligible dependents to promote connection, persistence, and successful navigation of college and veteran-related resources. Provides outreach, appointment-based support, and referrals, and coordinates of veteran-centered programming and communications in line with Veteran Services Center priorities.
Essential Duties
- Conducts proactive outreach to student veterans and eligible dependents to support onboarding, continued engagement, and timely connection to services.
- Provides appointment-based and drop-in support including intake follow-up, troubleshooting barriers, and coaching on next steps; documents engagements according to program practices.
- Provide non-certifying benefits navigation support. Explains general processes, timelines, and campus steps, and connects students to the School Certifying Official (SCO) for certification-specific actions.
- Coordinates and/or supports veteran-centered programming such as orientation touchpoints, socials, and workshops, and assists with communications to promote awareness of services and events.
- Facilitates referrals and warm handoffs to campus and community resources based on student need.
- Supports basic-needs barrier reduction through resource connection and referrals, and when appropriate, assists students in accessing emergency aid resources administered outside the grant and documents the service touchpoint.
- Collaborates with Veteran Services team members and campus partners to identify trends and needs and improve outreach and service workflows for student veterans.
- Maintains accurate records, service logs, and basic reporting data related to veteran engagement and program activities; assists with data collection needed for quarterly reporting.
- Supports day-to-day front-facing operations of the Veteran Services Center as needed during scheduled coverage. Greets students and visitors, routes calls and messages, and provides information.

Minimum and Desired Qualifications
Minimum qualifications
- Associate degree or completion of at least two years of college-level coursework toward a bachelor's degree in education, liberal arts, psychology, social science, human services, or related field OR equivalent experience such as that gained by service in the military.
- Two (2) years of experience supporting student veterans, military-connected students, or other student/client populations through advising, coaching, benefits/resource navigation, case management, or related student support services.
- Experience with student outreach and/or engagement and providing resource navigation or referrals in a student support environment..
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in education, liberal arts, psychology, social science, human services, or related field.
- Military experience.
- Experience working with military-connected communities.
- Experience with community college student services (e.g., advising, admissions, financial aid, basic needs navigation).
- Experience with data entry, tracking systems such as CRM, appointment scheduling, or service logs, and basic reporting.

Working Conditions and Important Information
Working conditions
Work is typically performed in an office environment with frequent interaction with students and staff. Position may require occasional evening or weekend hours based on programming and service needs. Regular computer use and standard office duties are expected.
Salary Placement
Initial salary placement will be within the posted range or pay rate of the position, and is based on applicable education and/or years of relevant full-time equivalent experience at the sole discretion of the College and in accordance with all applicable state and federal laws. Please include all relevant education and full and part-time experience (including unpaid and volunteer experience) in your application that you want the College to review towards potential placement. Hired employees will not have an opportunity to update past education and/or experience or appeal initial placement after the time of hire.
