Public Accounting Manager

Position Overview
The Accounting Manager will work within the Client Services Department and oversee a team of accountants responsible for managing client relationships and delivering high-quality accounting services. This individual will be responsible for team performance, quality control, workflow management, client engagement profitability, and the development of team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and oversee a team of 3–5 accountants, ensuring engagements are completed accurately and on time
• Review client work for accuracy, consistency, and quality
• Oversee the profitability of client engagements
• Identify opportunities to cross-sell and upsell additional services to existing clients
• Train, mentor, and develop team members
• Manage team workflow and resources to meet client deadlines
• Serve as a technical resource for accounting and technology-related issues
• Build and improve processes to increase efficiency and quality
• Provide strategic accounting insights and guidance to clients and internal teams

Qualifications & Experience

• 7–10 years of accounting experience preferred
• Experience working within a mid-sized CPA or accounting firm preferred
• 3–5 years of people management or leadership experience preferred
• Experience preparing and consolidating financial statements and financial reports
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Strong client-service mindset and ability to build trusted relationships
• Proficiency with cloud-based accounting platforms, including QuickBooks Online and Xero
• Familiarity with platforms and tools such as Shopify, Amazon Seller Central, A2X, Bill.com, and Gusto
• Demonstrated ability to build processes and drive operational efficiency
• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required
• CPA strongly preferred; Master's degree or MBA preferred
• Experience with e-commerce, SaaS, real estate, inventory management, or internal controls is a plus

Compensation & Benefits

• Salary: $110,000–$140,000 annually + performance bonus
