  • Skill in journalistic composition, including researching, analyzing, organizing and presenting complex information clearly to diverse audiences.

  • Ability to create effective media and public relations and to serve as a credible public information representative, including engaging with news organizations, community stakeholders and the public.

  • Ability to build collaborative working relationships and manage communication projects in a team environment.

  • Ability to interpret and apply relevant federal, state and local statutes, rules, and regulations.

  • Ability to create engaging digital content using a mobile device, ensuring materials are visually compelling, aligned with organizational messaging and suitable for social media platforms.

About the Department:

The County Administrative Office serves as Washington County's central coordinating body, aligning the Board of Commissioners' priorities with the work carried out across all departments. As the administrative arm of the Board, the office provides strategic direction, supports cross-departmental collaboration, and ensures that County programs and services are delivered effectively, efficiently and accessibly.
