Duties & Responsibilities
Assist in coordination of events.
- Support the coordination and execution of School of Music events and engagement activities, including instrument specific recruiting clinics, alumni and development events, youth programs, and camps.
- Provide logistical and administrative support for events, which may include: Scheduling and reserving venues Assisting with event planning timelines Managing registrations and participant communications Preparing materials and artist support needs Coordinating basic technical support (photography, video/audio recording)
- Serve as a point of contact for event logistics in collaboration with faculty, staff, and external partners.
- Assist with outreach and engagement with area high schools, external music programs, and the regional community to create and expand existing partnerships and build new ones.
Marketing & Promotional Activities
- Create, prepare, and distribute promotional content and materials for School of Music events in alignment with established marketing plans and messaging.
- Assist with updating and maintaining the following:
- Events calendar
- Website content
- Social media posts
- Digital signage
- Email communications, eNewsletters, and Canvas course sites
- Collaborate with stakeholders to produce electronic and print programs for concerts, recitals, and special performances.
- Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timely distribution of event information across platforms.
Outreach & Representation Support
- Assist with outreach efforts to area high schools, external music programs, alumni, and the regional community in support of existing and emerging engagement initiatives.
- Represent the School of Music at local, regional, and national events and conferences as assigned, for the purpose of supporting recruitment, alumni relations, and community engagement.
- Maintain positive working relationships with external contacts and refer strategic partnership opportunities to Public Engagement leadership.
Collaboration & Administrative Support
- Work collaboratively with faculty, staff, and Public Engagement leadership to ensure smooth execution of engagement activities.
- Support data gathering or documentation related to event participation or outcomes, as requested.
- Perform additional duties as assigned in support of School of Music engagement, events, and communications.
