OVERVIEW
Under direct supervision, the Public Health Nurse provides professional public health nursing services in a variety of community settings focusing on promoting health and wellness through education, advocacy, referrals, primary care, case management, and service coordination. Our Public Health Nurses play a vital role in advancing health initiatives and programs throughout Ventura County aimed at protecting and promoting the health of individuals, families, and communities. Some of these programs include home visitation services, providing case management and care coordination across the lifespan, communicable disease investigation, and specialty clinics such as the Tuberculosis Specialty Clinic and the Public Health Clinic.

NOTE: Public Healths hours of operation are Monday through Friday 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.

PAYROLL TITLE: Registered Nurse-Public Health
Registered Nurse-Public Health is represented by the California Nurses Association (CNA) and is eligible for overtime compensation. Salary placement will be determined according to the current CNA memorandum of agreement.
The eligible list established from this recruitment will be used to fill current and future (including Temporary and Fixed-Term), Intermittent, and Extra-Help vacancies within the Ventura County Health Care Agency Public Health Department. There is currently one (1) Regular vacancy with the California Children's Services program.
