CAREER DESCRIPTION
PUBLICH HEALTH NURSE
Salary may be negotiable within the range listed above, based on position requirements and successful candidates qualifications, subject to appropriate authorization.
OPEN TO THE PUBLIC
This recruitment will establish an open eligible list that will be used to fill current and future Public Health Nurse positions. The eligible list established may also be used to fill positions in similar and/or lower classifications throughout the County of Orange.
DEADLINE TO APPLY

HEALTH CARE AGENCY
The County of Orange, Health Care Agency (HCA) is a dynamic organization dedicated to creating and supporting an environment that promotes the achievement of optimal individual, family and community health. Under the direction of the Agency Director, a new and dynamic executive team with an organizational structure comprised of five (5) service areas - Administrative Services, Behavioral Health Services, Correctional Health Services, Specialized Medical Services and Public Health Services - is committed to meeting the health needs of the diverse Orange County community.
THE OPPORTUNITY
The position provides services during normal business days (Monday through Friday) and may be assigned to work evening hours. Some positions are field-based and require home visitation. Responsibilities and duties for this position include, but are not limited to, the following:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND CORE COMPETENCIES
In addition to the minimum qualifications, the ideal candidate will possess the abilities and/or knowledge in the is following core competencies:
Technical Knowledge
Strong understanding and application of case management and/or care coordination principles
Interpreting and/or implementing federal, state, local, grant or clinical program regulations or policies in a clinic, community or public health environment
Understanding and application of the three (3) core functions and ten (10) essential services of public health
Experience working with Electronic Medical Records
Serving as a key participant in program design, development and evaluation
Ability to solicit information from clients on sensitive information
Interpreting and maintaining confidentiality of client records
Proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Power Point and Outlook
Interpersonal Skills
Communication Skills
Problem Solving and Analysis

RECRUITMENT PROCESS

Eligible List
Once the assessment has been completed, HRS will establish an eligible list of candidates. Based on the Countys needs, the selection procedures listed above may be modified. All candidates will be notified of any changes in the selection procedures.
