AMI Expeditionary Healthcare LLC (AMI) is seeking an experienced Public Health Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide strategic leadership for a nationwide Indian Health Service (IHS)Office of Public Health Support initiative focused on strengthening immunization reporting, improving vaccination coverage, and enhancing Government Performance and Results Act (GPRA) performance.

What You'll Do

As the Public Health SME, you will serve as the project's clinical and immunization expert, helping guide program strategy and develop standardized approaches for immunization reporting and quality improvement across the IHS enterprise.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Serve as the lead subject matter expert for immunization program operations, coverage measurement, and public health reporting.
  • Evaluate how immunization data and reporting systems—including GPRA measures, Clinical Reporting System (CRS), iCARE, RPMS, and the National Immunization Reporting System (NIRS)/National Vaccine Coverage Dashboard—are utilized across IHS.
  • Lead current-state assessments by designing interviews and surveys, engaging stakeholders, and identifying reporting gaps, inefficiencies, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Facilitate interviews, workshops, and validation sessions with IHS Headquarters, immunization coordinators, and clinical staff to build consensus around best practices.
  • Develop recommendations that improve interpretation of immunization coverage data, reduce missed opportunities, and strengthen outreach, recall, and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Contribute to executive briefings, final recommendations, standardized guidance, and training materials.

Required Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, Healthcare Administration, Nursing, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in immunization programs, public health reporting, healthcare quality measurement, performance improvement, or related healthcare initiatives.
  • Strong knowledge of immunization program operations and public health quality improvement.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, and stakeholder engagement skills.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience interpreting clinical quality measures and healthcare reporting systems.
  • Direct experience supporting Indian Health Service (IHS), Tribal, or Urban Indian Health Programs.
  • Familiarity with RPMS, CRS, GPRA immunization measures, and related reporting systems.
  • Experience with Vaccines for Children (VFC) programs, immunization coalitions, or state/territorial Immunization Information Systems (IIS).
  • Demonstrated ability to build consensus among multidisciplinary clinical and public health stakeholders.
