Public Relations Coordinator

 
Reports to: Parish Administrator
FLSA Status: Hourly, Non-Exempt
Part Time
 
Position summary:
Planning and implementing communications, public relations, and outreach strategies on multiple media platforms for the Church. Working in conjunction with the School and ECLC for complete Parish communications.  
PUBLIC RELATIONS AREAS OF RESPONSIBILITY:
  •  Coordinate all communication efforts, including but not limited to the Church bulletin, Church Website, myParish App, and other related platforms.
  • Work with Parish and its ministries to ensure timely updates to parishioners of activities and upcoming events.
  • Communicate with School and ECLC for shared publications on all platforms.
  • Assist in the planning of Parish events for Church, School, and Early Learning Center. Creator of flyers, signage, and media for timely communications.
  • Preparation and analysis of reports as requested.
 
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED
  • Bachelor’s degree in a related field or its equivalent in experience.
  • Be a practicing Catholic in good standing.  
  • Must have knowledge of the teaching of the Catholic Church, a familiarity with its structures, functions, and institutions.
  • Have knowledge, ability, and skill to effectively utilize computers, various software and other office equipment as needed.
  • Work independently and be flexible in a changing environment. 
  • Solid interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise extreme discretion. 
  • Strong organizational skills and the ability to work under pressure.  
  • Ability to assume leadership and responsibility.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, vendors, employees, and the public.
 
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS
Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
 
REASONING ABILITY
Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
