The Public Safety Officer is responsible for patrolling JHMI campus via foot, mobile unit or bicycle to protect against illegal activities, theft, fire, vandalism, hazardous conditions,

infringements, etc.

Hours:

Evening Shift

Location:

Howard County General Hospital

5755 Cedar Lane

Columbia MD

Education:

• Work requires a comprehensive knowledge of security functions as would normally be acquired
• by significant experience in a security operation preferably with completion of a High School
• degree or equivalent. Requires acceptable completion of basic security officer training.
• Assignment to the Communications Center requires successful completion of 911 and
• Communications dispatch training.

Requirements:

• Requires current certification in use of Corporate Security Services self defense equipment.

Work Experience:

• The candidate must have one (1) year of security experience in the Protective Services Officer
• Must be at least 21 years of age.
