 Backbone Underground Inc is seeking a dependable and hardworking Underground Utilities Construction Laborer to join our team. We specialize in public utility construction, including water, sewer, and horizontal directional drilling (HDD).


Job Responsibilities

• Assist crews with installation of underground water and sewer mains and services
  
  
• Assist with horizontal directional drilling (HDD) operations
  
  
• Install and handle pipe, fittings, valves, hydrants, manholes, and other utility components
  
  
• Perform digging, trenching, backfilling, and general site work
  
  
• Hand dig around existing utilities as needed
  
  
• Assist with jobsite setup and cleanup
  
  
• Load, unload, and move pipe, tools, equipment, and materials
  
  
• Safely use hand and power tools
  
  
• Work around excavators, loaders, directional drills, vacuum equipment, and other heavy equipment
  
  
• Assist equipment operators and other crew members as needed
  
  
• Follow company and jobsite safety procedures
  
  
• Perform other construction duties as assigned
  
  

Qualifications

• Previous underground utility or construction experience preferred, but not required
  
  
• Experience with water, sewer, or HDD is a plus
  
  
• Willing to train the right candidate
  
  
• Must be dependable and have a strong work ethic
  
  
• Ability to follow directions and work well as part of a crew
  
  
• Must be able to perform physical labor including digging, lifting, carrying, bending, and working on your feet throughout the day
  
  
• Must be comfortable working outdoors in varying weather and jobsite conditions
  
  
• Valid driver's license preferred
  
  
• Must be safety-conscious and willing to learn
