Industrial Pump Mechanic | Wharton, NJ
This is a direct hire, full time career opportunity in Wharton. We are looking for an experienced mechanic to join our team for first shift operations, focusing on the disassembly, inspection, and precision reassembly of critical industrial equipment.
Compensation and Schedule
The hourly rate for this position is $35 to $45 per hour, depending on your depth of experience with specific industrial pump brands and gearbox diagnostics.
Shift: 6:30am - 3:00pm, Monday through Friday.
Overtime: Ample opportunities available daily after your 8 hour shift.
Employment Type: Direct Hire, Full Time.
Core Responsibilities
In this role, you will be responsible for the complete mechanical restoration of various pump types, including Split Case, End Suction, Submersible, and Vertical Turbines.
Daily tasks involve:
Detailed disassembly and inspection of pumps to diagnose wear or failure.
Precise measurement and reassembly of units to meet strict specifications.
Disassembling and diagnosing industrial gearboxes or transmissions.
Setting critical spacing on gearboxes to ensure proper alignment and operation.
Reading and interpreting technical cut sheets and exploded diagrams to identify parts and guide repairs.
Candidate Requirements
We are seeking a technician with a strong background in heavy industrial mechanics.
Experience: A minimum of 5 years working with medium to large industrial pumps.
Specialized Knowledge: Prior work with Flygt, KSB, Peerless, Ingersoll Rand, Flowserve, or Worthington is highly desirable.
Gearbox Expertise: At least 3 years of experience in gearbox or transmission teardowns and diagnostics.
Technical Literacy: Full ability to navigate technical drawings and diagrams.
Equipment: You must own a complete set of professional tools required for this trade.S
