Position Summary
Conhagen is seeking a Pump/Turbine Mechanic to support our 2nd Shift operations (2:30 PM – 11:00 PM). This position is responsible for inspecting, troubleshooting, repairing, and rebuilding rotating equipment including pumps, turbines, compressors, blowers, and related mechanical systems.
The ideal candidate possesses strong mechanical aptitude, experience working with industrial equipment, and a commitment to delivering high-quality work in a safe and team-oriented environment.
What You'll Do
- Disassemble, inspect, troubleshoot, repair, and reassemble rotating equipment.
- Perform precision measurements and document inspection findings.
- Identify wear patterns, damaged components, and root causes of equipment failures.
- Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, manuals, and technical specifications.
- Perform shaft alignment, bearing installation, balancing, and other mechanical repair activities.
- Utilize precision measuring tools including micrometers, calipers, dial indicators, and gauges.
- Work collaboratively with machinists, engineers, supervisors, and fellow mechanics.
- Maintain accurate repair documentation and inspection reports.
- Follow all company safety procedures and maintain a clean work environment.
- Support continuous improvement efforts to enhance quality and efficiency.
What We're Looking For
Required Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED.
- Mechanical aptitude and experience working with industrial equipment.
- Ability to safely use hand tools, power tools, and precision measuring instruments.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and repair documentation.
- Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to lift up to 50 pounds and work in an industrial shop environment.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience repairing pumps, turbines, compressors, motors, or other rotating equipment.
- Technical school, military mechanical training, apprenticeship, or related industrial experience.
- Experience with precision alignment, balancing, bearings, seals, and vibration analysis.
- Experience in power generation, oil & gas, manufacturing, petrochemical, or industrial maintenance environments.
