Overview:

 

To facilitate the movement of petroleum and chemical products from and between the docks, tank farm, pipelines, trucks, railcars, etc. in a safe and efficient manner.

Responsibilities:
  • Align tanks, ships, barges and pipelines for the transfer of product both in and out of the storage tanks, to and from modes of transportation (ie. Barge, ship, tank car, rail car, etc.).
  • Sampling and sample tagging of product movements, store samples, review product data sheets prior to handling customer products.
  • Prepare accurate and complete documentation for all product movements.
  • Requires climbing tank stairs, operating valves, pumps, and gauging tanks. 
  • Other duties as assigned

 

Qualifications:
  • The job requires a valid driver’s licenses to operate pick-up to and from the tank farm.
  • Required to follow established standards, special customer requirements, and inventory control procedures.
  • Must be able to climb frames up to 100 feet in height.
  • Basic use of mechanical tools, (pipe-wrench, open/close end wrenches).
  • Knowledge in the use of measuring devices, like gauging tapes, thermometers, tape measures, etc.
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills, excel, word, Microsoft office and outlook.
  • Will be required to wear PPE, steel toes, Goggles and respirators.
  • During the probationary period the employee must display an aptitude to learn, manifolds, tank configuration, line systems, and must be able to pass tests related to this training.
  • Must be able to lift 50 lbs.
  • Must be able to pass a basic skill math test that will encompass, adding and subtracting fractions, compare fractions, word problems, percentages, mixed numbers, decimals, and a basic mechanics.
  • Ability to learn new tasks and skills readily.
  • Able to adapt to and work productively in a dynamic work environment.
  • Mechanical aptitude
  • Basic match skills, with the ability to take and pass a qualify exam.
  • Computer literate in Windows based programs.
  • Good quality judgment and strong communication skills.
  • Self motivated and positive attitude.
  • Responsible for working in a safe and efficient manner when handling customer products.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

Preferred Experience, Skills and Knowledge (above the minimum requirements; not required, but advantageous in this position)

  • Associates degree in relevant field is preferred.
  • Previous petrochemical experience is preferred.
  • Basic pipefitting will be helpful.
