Punch Press Operator

SNI Companies is hiring a Punch Press Set Up and Operator for our client in Milford, CT. This position plays a key role in ensuring the accurate and timely completion of work orders by performing setups and conducting in-process inspections.

Job Title: Punch Press Set Up and Operator
Location: Milford, CT
Pay: $18.00/hr
Schedule: Mon-Fri 1 ^st shift 7:00am-3:30pm with flexibility for extended hours or weekend work.

Work Environment: Manufacturing floor with exposure to industrial equipment, noise, and varying temperatures


Responsibilities:
· Set up punch press machines for production. Die installation, material alignment, and machine adjustments.
· Operate punch presses to cut, form, and shape metal parts as specified by work orders, blueprints, and job travelers.
· Perform first-piece inspections and verify part conformance using calipers, micrometers, and gauges.
· Monitor machine operations and part quality throughout production.
· Troubleshoot minor machine issues and make necessary adjustments.
· Change tooling, sharpen dies, and conduct routine maintenance.
· Maintain documentation of counts, scrap, and inspection results.
· Keep the work area organized and clean in alignment with 5S practices.
· Communicate any concerns or equipment issues to the supervisor in a timely manner.


Requirements:
Experience in a shop or manufacturing department.
· Frequent standing, bending, lifting, and reaching throughout the shift.
· Ability to lift and move up to 40 lbs independently.
· Manual dexterity and visual acuity required to safely operate machinery and perform inspections.
