Punch Press Operator

This position supports a manufacturing operation that produces precision‑formed metal components used across industrial and commercial applications. The Punch Press Operator is responsible for setting up and operating punch press equipment to shape or form materials according to specifications. The role requires mechanical aptitude, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a production environment while following established safety procedures.

Key responsibilities:

* Set up punch press machines by selecting appropriate tooling, installing dies, and adjusting gauges according to blueprints or job instructions.
* Feed raw materials into the press and operate the machine to cut, punch, form, or shape parts to required specifications.
* Perform quality checks using calipers, micrometers, gauges, and other precision tools to verify dimensional accuracy.
* Conduct routine cleaning, lubrication, and minor maintenance to keep equipment in proper working order.
* Follow all required safety procedures, including wearing PPE such as safety glasses, hearing protection, and steel‑toed footwear.
* Record production output, defect counts, material usage, and other related information as part of daily documentation.
* Assist with material handling using hoists, forklifts, or manual methods as needed.






Requirements:

* High school diploma or GED.
* Previous manufacturing or machine operator experience is often preferred, though some positions are entry‑level.
* Ability to read blueprints, work orders, and technical drawings.
* Basic math skills for measuring and calculating dimensions.
* Ability to stand for long periods and lift up to 25-50 lbs regularly.
* Basic understanding of machine operation and troubleshooting.


Preferences:
* Experience with mechanical, hydraulic, or turret punch press machines.
* Familiarity with calipers, micrometers, tape measures, and related precision measuring tools.
* Comfort using basic hand tools such as Allen wrenches.
* Experience operating forklifts, hoists, or other material‑handling equipment.
