Marion School District is expanding our pupil services team! We are seeking a highly motivated, student-centered individual to join our educational family at the brand-new Marion Middle School for the upcoming 2026-2027 school year.

The Role
The ideal candidate will serve our newly created grades 5-8 middle school, collaborating closely with our existing elementary (PK-4) and high school (9-12) counselors. In this role, you will foster student success through social-emotional regulation, college/career readiness, and academic support. An exciting component of this role includes delivering universal (Tier 1) social-emotional learning instruction, ensuring all students build the foundational skills needed to thrive.
Key Responsibilities & Focus Areas
Universal SEL Instruction: Design and teach developmental, classroom-based lessons focused on cultivating social-emotional skills at the universal level for all middle school students.
Student Advocacy: Foster social-emotional regulation, support academic goals, and facilitate college and career readiness.
School Culture: Enrich our positive school climate through excellent communication, high professionalism, and active collaboration with staff, families, and the community.
Systems Support: Actively participate in student 504 planning, support McKinney-Vento rights, and collaborate within our student services framework.
Qualifications & Preferences
Licensure: Valid Wisconsin DPI licensure as a School Counselor or School Social Worker.
SEL Curriculum: Familiarity with evidence-based social-emotional learning curricula suitable for middle schoolers.
MTSS/PBIS: Knowledge and/or experience with academic and behavioral Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) and PBIS is a strong plus.
Mindset: Highly collaborative, adaptable, and passionate about supporting middle-level learners in a rural community.
