Client is seeking a Procurement Sr. Advisor to manage and execute a comprehensive procurement approach for AMI 2.0 Meter and Network device Installation Contractor Services. The Sr. Advisor will support the full procurement lifecycle from strategy development through contract award and transition to post award execution ensuring alignment with deployment schedules, risk tolerance, regulatory commitments, and enterprise governance requirements.
 
AMI 2.0 Senior Purchasing Advisor V
  • The Client Sr. Advisor assigned to the AMI 2.0 team will serve as Procurement's primary procurement lead and day-to-day interface with the AMI Engineering & Technology Deployment team, numerous cross-functional stakeholders across the company, and external advisory consultants. This role is responsible for coordinating Client procurement activities, enabling timely consultant performance, maintaining sourcing process integrity, and ensuring that advisory work products are usable for Client's RFP, evaluating complete, comparable, and price-risk-transparent bidder responses against contracting, governance, and transition needs.
  • This highly-organized individual must coordinate diverse stakeholder groups through complex commercial and technical evaluations, resolving competing inputs, and keeping workstreams moving with urgency and discipline.
 
The Sr. Advisor is expected to coordinate with:
  • AMI 2.0 Program leadership and PMO
  • Client Procurement and Supply Management leadership
  • Legal and contracting representatives
  • Supplier Management and post-award contract management teams
  • Field deployment, operations, customer experience, safety, logistics, IT, cybersecurity, and regulatory stakeholders, as applicable
  • Advisory consultant engagement lead, procurement lead, utility subject matter experts, and supporting consultant resources
  • Bidders and prospective suppliers through Client-approved sourcing channels and communication protocols
 
Required Skills/Attributes    
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Experience
  • Experience leading complex strategic sourcing, procurement advisory, or supplier selection efforts for large-scale utility, technology, field services, infrastructure, or capital program procurements.
  • Strong understanding of source-to-contract processes, RFP development, commercial structuring, proposal evaluation, negotiation support, supplier onboarding, and contract handoff.
  • Ability to coordinate cross-functional stakeholders and translate complex program, operational, legal, commercial, technical, and governance requirements into clear procurement direction.
  • Attention to detail to maintain clear documentation of procurement assumptions, decisions, risks, and evaluation rationale and to support defensible vendor selection.
  • Ability to learn quickly to gain expert-level familiarity with utility procurement controls, competitive sourcing practices, audit-ready documentation, confidentiality requirements, and supplier communication protocols.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to prepare executive-ready summaries, decision materials, issue logs, and procurement recommendations. Working knowledge of Ariba, Microsoft Teams, SharePoint, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Manage ambiguity, resolve conflicting stakeholder input, and maintain schedule discipline in a high-visibility program environment.
  • Strong project management skills, including planning, coordination, and execution tracking.

  • Experience in Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) field services (meter installation, disposal, inventory, warehousing, etc.).
  • Demonstrated political savvy and emotional intelligence, with the ability to navigate complex stakeholder dynamics, build trusted relationships, and influence outcomes without direct authority.
  • Experience working in environments governed by union labor agreements.
  • Experience in utility, regulated, or large enterprise procurement environments.
  • Strong facilitation and communication skills, with ability to influence at multiple organizational levels.
