Purchasing Agent Responsibilities:

• 
  
• Review purchase requisitions to verify accuracy, specifications, quantities, and required delivery dates
• 
  
• Identify available inventory and coordinate internal stock transfers when applicable
• 
  
• Prepare and issue purchase orders based on approved requisitions, pricing, specifications, and supplier recommendations
• 
  
• Research suppliers, obtain quotes, compare pricing, and assist with vendor selection
• 
  
• Maintain positive relationships with suppliers and communicate regularly regarding orders, pricing, and delivery schedules
• 
  
• Monitor open purchase orders and proactively expedite or resolve delayed shipments
• 
  
• Verify received materials against purchase orders and packing documentation
• 
  
• Research and resolve discrepancies, shortages, damaged goods, and incorrect shipments with vendors
• 
  
• Submit receiving documentation and supporting information for invoice/payment processing
• 
  
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, vendor information, and documentation
• 
  
• Assist with purchasing reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing purchasing activity, costs, and trends
• 
  
• Collaborate with inventory, operations, accounting, and other departments to ensure materials are available when needed
• 
  
• Help identify opportunities to improve purchasing processes, pricing, and supplier performance
• 
  

Purchasing Agent Requirements:

• 
  
• 2+ year of purchasing, procurement, buying, or related experience
• 
  
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• 
  
• Excellent communication and follow-up skills
• 
  
• Ability to manage multiple purchase orders and priorities in a fast-paced environment
•
