Purchasing Agent

TRCC is headquartered in the heart of Northwest Georgia, TRCC has grown from its roots as a latex supplier to the tufted carpet industry into a global leader in advanced chemical solutions, with a footprint that spans every continent.

We are currently hiring for an experienced Purchasing Agent who is responsible for sourcing, negotiating, and purchasing raw materials, supplies, equipment, and services necessary to support company operations. This position works closely with suppliers, production, warehouse, accounting, and other internal departments to ensure materials are delivered on time, meet quality standards, and remain within budget.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Employee must pass a fitness for duty test, drug screen and submit to a TB test on a post offer employment physical.
• Review and process purchase requisitions and issue purchase orders.
• Maintain adequate inventory levels while minimizing excess inventory.
• Source new suppliers and evaluate existing supplier performance.
• Negotiate pricing, payment terms, lead times, and contracts with vendors.
• Monitor open orders and follow up on late deliveries or shipment issues.
• Coordinate with production and planning teams to ensure material availability.
• Resolve invoice discrepancies, damaged shipments, and supplier claims.
• Maintain accurate purchasing records, pricing files, and supplier documentation.
• Analyze market trends, supply chain risks, and pricing fluctuations.
• Work with freight carriers and logistics providers to coordinate deliveries.
• Ensure compliance with company policies and purchasing procedures.
• Support continuous improvement initiatives related to cost savings and supply chain efficiency.
• Follow Safety Protocols and wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) when required.
• This job is performed on-site. Remote work is not allowed for this position.
• Performs other related duties as necessary or assigned.

• Experience with ERP or SAP systems.

Required Education and Experience

• High School Diploma, required.
• Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain, Purchasing or related field, preferred.
• 2+ years of purchasing, procurement, or supply chain experience, preferred.

Physical Requirements

• Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk while using a computer and phone.
• Ability to work in a temperature controlled and noise-controlled environment.
• The job is normally performed in a quiet environment; however, there can be unexpected, sudden loud noises, beeping backup alarms, flashing lights and sudden movements.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds at times by lifting, pulling or pushing.
• Must be able to lift up to 25 pounds by reaching above the shoulders.

Work Schedule

• Monday - Friday, 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
• Work environment is on site. Remote work not offered for this position.

Pay Range

• Pay range will be based on verifiable experience and education level using current market rates as a guideline.
