Position Overview
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Procurement Specialist to manage the sourcing and purchasing of goods and services. This role plays a vital part in ensuring materials, supplies, and services are acquired efficiently, cost-effectively, and in alignment with company goals and production needs.
Key Responsibilities
Procure goods and services including raw materials, tools, supplies, equipment, repairs, and MRO items
Place purchase orders promptly while adhering to company policies and procedures
Maintain and manage stock levels, including replenishment, non-stock review, returns, and dead inventory analysis
Ensure procurement is conducted in a cost-effective, timely manner while balancing cost, quality, and urgency
Collaborate with suppliers to secure optimal pricing and service support
Review requisitions, purchase orders, and vouchers for accuracy and compliance
Analyze data to evaluate pricing trends and ensure reasonable costs
Identify supply demand to support production needs and plant operations
Expedite orders and communicate delivery timelines to internal teams; follow up on backorders
Perform month-end inventory cycle counts and assist with inventory accuracy initiatives
Develop and implement cost-saving strategies and improvements in supply chain efficiency
Contribute to cost reduction initiatives, including Total Manufacturing Cost (TMC) for new products
Requirements
Previous experience in procurement, purchasing, or supply chain management preferred
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
Excellent attention to detail and organizational abilities
Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
Strong negotiation and vendor management skills
Proficiency in inventory systems and computer software
Effective communication and collaboration skills
Knowledge of purchasing and inventory control principles
