THE POSITION

As a Purchasing Agent, you will ensure that Fayette County Housing Authority has the resources it needs to maintain, manage, and develop affordable and safe assisted housing for all residents. This role offers the chance to manage important purchasing and contract decisions that directly support housing services. DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position provides oversight and coordination for the agency's procurement processes. Work ensures purchases and contracts meet all to meet project and Agency needs. As a Purchasing Agent, you will perform the following duties:

  • Procurement Oversight: Manage procurement activities to ensure acquisitions of proper equipment, material, supplies, and services
  • Bid Coordination: Prepare and review competitive bids to ensure that solicitations meet budget, procedural, and technical requirements; issues purchase orders when acceptable
  • Contract Review: Evaluate contract files for compliance with HUD regulations and ensure all required documentation is included
  • Deliverable Management: Processes received items and services for payment; monitor work performed
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work with property managers to verify receipt of goods and services;
  • works with vendors regarding purchasing requirements and ordering
  • Recordkeeping: Maintain vendor files and records of all purchases, procurements, and contracts to support accurate oversight, monitoring, payment approval, and closeout

Work Schedule and Additional Information:

  • Full-time employment
  • Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:30 PM, Monday - Friday, with a 60-minute lunch.
  • Telework: You will not have the option to telework in this position.
  • Salary: In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable.

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS

Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:

  • Three years of purchasing work involving contact with vendors in the procurement of a variety of supplies, materials, equipment, and services; or
  • Four years of stores or warehouse experience that includes responsibility for maintaining inventory control; requisitioning or ordering supplies, and supervising subordinates; and Graduation from high school or equivalent certification; or
  • Completion of college level instruction in business or the liberal arts may be substituted for a year-for-year basis for purchasing or stores experience to a maximum of two years; or
  • Any equivalent combination of experience and training.

Other Requirements:
