FULL DESCRIPTION: This position as the Purchasing Agent is responsible for negotiating contracts with packaging, consumable vendors for all plants. Required to order, validate receipts, cycle counting and inventory of packaging material, and supplies as needed for the assigned plants. Coordinate with plant staff to ensure all inventory levels are maintained within established min-max thresholds. Maintain good communication with the Plant Controller to ensure inventory levels are consistent with ERP/Assist counts and any discrepancies are corrected in a timely manner.

The selected candidate will be responsible for:

Responsible for and authorized to bind company resources in the purchase of necessary goods and services.
Purchase goods and services to support the operational forecast with relying on specific instruction.
Analyze, identify, and execute opportunities to optimize the use of company funds, i.e. MOQ's combination ordering with other plant locations, etc.
Oversee to ensure inventory packaging availability, expedite inventory replenishment needs and properly received, storage and labeled.
Maintain established min-max inventory levels utilizing physical cycle counts through INECTA ERP SYSTEM.
Manage First In/First Out (FIFO) for all on-hand packaging.
Maintain positive vendor relations.
Ordering all production packaging, maintenance and ensure consumable are properly received, storage and labeled.
Perform and coordinate the monthly cycle counting of all on-hand packaging and consumables.
Communicate all identified discrepancies to Production Manager and Plant Controller for timely correction of recorded inventory levels in ERP to be managed appropriately.
Creation and submission of electronic purchase requisitions and purchase orders.
Responsible to work with limited to no supervision in all key areas.
Keep management personnel informed on operations through verbal and written communications.
Complete all paperwork neatly and correctly.
Review, suggest and execute threshold authorization through purchase cycle.

The selected candidate will also possess:

Bachelor's degree in supply management, finance or business. At least two years of purchasing experience required.
Communication: Ability to read, comprehend, and compose instructions, correspondence, and memos in English. Must possess the ability to effectively communicate verbally and in writing.
Analysis and Decision Making: Must possess good analytical, quantitative, and problem-solving skills and technical skills. Ability to creatively apply experience, common sense, and a strategic and economical business perspective to a variety of situations, processes and people. Ability to manage several projects concurrently. Ability to perform the essential duties and responsibilities with efficiency, accuracy, work independently, professionally and in a team environment.
Computer Skills: To perform this job successfully, an individual should have a strong command of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and ERP system
