SUMMARY:

The Purchasing Associate is responsible for accelerating stalled customer orders and inventory requirements. This position resolves all issues related to purchase orders such as (but not limited to) late delivery, inaccurate order, overage, shortage, and urgent requirements with Customer Service. The goal of this position is to perform work that improves timely, accuracy, and quality for open purchase orders.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Address and resolve all urgent Customer Service purchasing related requirements.
  • Run reports on open purchase orders and prepare supplier specific spreadsheets.
  • Monitor and resolve all purchase order that are past the estimated arrival date.
  • Process and monitor all urgent purchase orders in ensure on-time delivery.
  • Monitor product and vendor lead time to identify inconsistent suppliers for the vendor scorecard database.
  • Work with buyers to resolve Supply Discrepancy Reports (SDRs).
  • Identify products for Process Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) requests with suppliers and update quality reporting within the vendor scorecard database.
  • Work with warehouse operations to identify and resolve order shortages, order overages, and/or damaged product.
  • Process and monitor all internal purchasing requests for administrative operations.
  • Support the purchasing team as needed for buying and other projects.
  • Maintain daily and weekly reports of work status and progress.
  • Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two years of experience in buying/purchasing and basic understanding of supply chain process. Certified Purchasing Professional (CPP) or Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) Preferred.
  • Ability to troubleshoot problems and perform root cause analysis
  • Advanced computer skills including use of Microsoft Office are required.
  • Advanced experience working in an ERP system is required.
  • Basic math skills and strong verbal and written communication, customer service, organization and interpersonal skills are required
  • Ability to handle time sensitive situations.
  • Ability to maintain a high level of energy, work in a team environment, and interact effectively with various personality types required
