The Purchasing Coordinator is responsible for providing organizational support to the purchasing department of API Construction Company. This role is essential in maintaining efficient and effective purchasing operations through communication with suppliers processing orders and collaborating with project and office teams. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functionsSolicit material and equipment project pricing.Create and issue purchase orders POs for projects and overhead.Input information and update records in Web-based applications and ERP systems.Confirm orders with suppliers and communicate delivery schedules with site teams.Schedule and coordinate shipping and deliveries.Source vet develop and maintain strong relationships with vendors and suppliers ensuring positive and productive partnerships.Track and record project equipment rentals and returns.Maintain accurate records and reconcile credit card purchases.Assist in ordering office supplies for headquarters.Support integration projects with cross-functional teams such as implementing new purchasing processes or ERP systems.Prepare regular reports on purchasing activities and supplier performance.Organize and maintain purchasing folders both digital and physical for easy access to up-to-date records.Support cost-saving initiatives by negotiating discounts and identifying savings opportunities.Support the operations team in forecasting project deliverables by providing timely information purchase schedules and tracking updates.LocationThis position is onsite in our New Brighton MN officeRequired Skills and AbilitiesProficient in Microsoft Office Suite Word Excel Outlook willingness to learn new software such as ERP and web-based purchasing systems.Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks.Collaborative team player and proactive contributor.Demonstrates adaptability and effectiveness in high-speed environments.Qualifications An associates degree or equivalent work experience is required.Travel Requirements Occasional travel to project sites or other API Inc. locations as needed.Physical RequirementsThe physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.
