Purchasing Coordinator


Position Summary


We are seeking a detail-oriented and proactive Purchasing Coordinator to support purchasing, inventory management, and production operations by ensuring timely procurement of materials, maintaining accurate inventory data, and supporting efficient manufacturing processes. This role will partner closely with production, suppliers, inventory control, and operations teams to ensure materials are available to meet business needs while maintaining data accuracy within the ERP system.


Principal Duties & Responsibilities



  • Coordinate the procurement of materials, supplies, and services to support manufacturing and operational requirements.

  • Monitor inventory levels and collaborate with internal teams to ensure adequate material availability.

  • Review and maintain purchasing and inventory data within the company's ERP system to ensure accuracy.

  • Analyze purchasing, inventory, and supplier-related issues and assist with resolution efforts.

  • Communicate with suppliers regarding purchase orders, delivery schedules, shortages, and discrepancies.

  • Support inventory accuracy initiatives, including cycle counts and inventory reconciliation activities.

  • Assist with maintaining item master data, supplier information, and purchasing records.

  • Monitor open purchase orders and follow up on past due shipments to minimize production disruptions.

  • Partner with production, warehouse, planning, and operations teams to support day-to-day material requirements.

  • Review purchasing trends and inventory usage to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements.

  • Support continuous improvement initiatives related to purchasing processes, inventory management, and operational efficiency.

  • Prepare reports and maintain documentation related to purchasing activities, inventory status, and supplier performance.


Qualifications



  • Strong organizational and time management skills.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Excel.

  • ERP experience required; SAP experience strongly preferred.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently while managing multiple priorities.

  • High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.

  • Self-motivated with a high level of initiative.

  • Previous experience in purchasing, procurement, inventory control, supply chain, or manufacturing support preferred.
