Job Responsibilities:

Company Overview:

Magna Seating of America is seeking a data-driven Data Scientist / Data Analyst to modernize automotive purchasing by transforming legacy, manual processes into AI-enabled, scalable workflows.

Key Responsibilities: -

- Analyze purchasing and supplier datasets to identify cost drivers and performance trends

- Develop insights to support sourcing and negotiation decisions - Convert manual workflows into AI-enabled and automated solutions

-Build tools for quote comparison, cost tracking, and reporting automation - Develop dashboards (Power BI or similar) to drive visibility and decision-making - Partner with Purchasing, Engineering, Finance, and IT teams

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Engineering, Finance, or related field

2+ years of experience in data analytics or data science

Strong passion for numbers and data-driven decision making

Technical Skills:

Advanced Excel (modeling, pivots)

Data visualization tools (Power BI preferred)

SQL and/or Python (preferred)

Preferred Experience:

Automotive or manufacturing environment

Purchasing or supplier analytics exposure

Experience with cost models and raw material analysis
