Our client is a high growth food manufacturer hiring for a Director of Purchasing - Food and Packaging that is based in Victorville, CA.
Job Description
- Develop and implement procurement and sourcing strategies for food and packaging materials to meet business objectives.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with suppliers to ensure reliable sourcing and cost efficiency.
- Conduct market analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities for cost savings.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements with suppliers to secure favorable terms and conditions.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues to ensure consistent quality and delivery.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to align procurement activities with business goals.
- Manage and optimize inventory levels to meet operational demands while minimizing costs.
- Manage, train and mentor a purchasing and procurement team.
- Ensure compliance with company policies and industry regulations in all procurement activities.
- This role is onsite based in Victorville, CA.

The Successful Applicant
- Experience with procurement and supply chain management in the food manufacturing sector.
- A Bachelors degree in a related field.
- Experience sourcing protein, food ingredients, and packaging materials.
- Strong negotiation and contract management skills.
- Ability to analyze market trends and identify cost-saving opportunities.
- Proficiency in supplier relationship management.
- Knowledge of compliance standards and industry regulations.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills to work with internal and external stakeholders.
- Experience developing, hiring, and training a procurement and sourcing team.
- Problem-solving skills with a focus on driving operational efficiency.
- This role is onsite based in Victorville, CA.
