Description

This isn’t a behind-the-scenes, autopilot purchasing role. Our Purchasing & Import Specialist owns the details that keep our global supply chain moving—managing purchase orders, coordinating with international suppliers, and handling the realities of imports, compliance, and timing. If you’re someone who takes pride in getting it right and keeping things moving, you’ll do well here.

This position requires primarily onsite work and is not fully remote. Hybrid eligibility may be available at a later time.

Key Responsibilities

  • Execute and manage purchase orders, supporting domestic and international suppliers from order placement through delivery
  • Partner with internal teams to align purchasing activity with supply, demand, and inventory requirements
  • Manage end‑to‑end international import operations, ensuring timely and compliant movement of goods across global borders
  • Oversee customs clearance activities, including classification (HS codes), country of origin determinations, and duty management
  • Monitor regulatory and trade compliance changes; assess business impact and implement necessary process updates
  • Track, analyze, and interpret purchasing and import data to identify cost‑savings opportunities and operational improvements
  • Develop and maintain reporting tools and dashboards to support data‑driven decision‑making across purchasing and import workflows
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance service levels, reduce cost, and increase efficiency across the supply chain

Required Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Supply Chain Management, Logistics, International Business, Procurement, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of experience in international supply chain roles with hands‑on responsibility for imports/customs operations and international purchasing or supplier coordination
  • Strong working knowledge of import regulations, trade compliance, customs documentation, and clearance processes
  • Demonstrated experience managing international purchase orders, supplier communication, and order execution from placement through delivery
  • Working knowledge of Incoterms, landed cost components, and global transportation modes
  • Experience partnering with customs brokers, freight forwarders, and international suppliers
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities across purchasing and import timelines in a fast‑paced environment
  • Strong analytical, problem‑solving, and communication skills
  • Proficiency with ERP systems and supply chain, logistics, or trade management tools

Additional / Nice‑to‑Have Qualifications

  • Experience with U.S. Customs and Border Protection (CBP) regulations and import procedures
  • Licensed Customs Broker certification or progress toward certification
  • APICS, CSCMP, or other supply chain or trade‑related certifications
