Purchasing Intern

Barnes Aerospace is an international group providing complex engineering solutions to some of the key names in the Aerospace and Defense market. Operating from sites close to our key customers in North America, Asia and Europe, the Barnes Aerospace group provides advanced technological solutions to the Aerospace and Defense industry, leveraging an in-depth knowledge of fabrications, machining and the global supply chain to support complex aero-engine component manufacture and repairs.We currently have an exciting opportunity for a Purchasing Intern at our West Chester, OH site.Core Responsibilities:

Work directly with Global Purchasing, Planning, IT, Legal & HR organizations on various assignmentsComplete required data analysis on PO Metrics, Spend, RFQs and market indicesSupport global Approved Supplier List (ASL) and supplier portal implementationSupport and maintain the supply chain standard work, training and skills matrixSupport supplier contract review, analysis and negotiationMaintain supply chain data and ensure data integritySupport the data collection, and creation of customer evaluations, including scorecards, for the Farnborough airshowComplete internship projects and present findings to leadershipPerform other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

Strong verbal and written communication skillsAbility to work in a business environmentAbility to schedule and organize time and tasks effectivelyAbility to work in a challenging and schedule driven environmentPossess analytical and technical skills required to understand business practices and recommend proper automation opportunitiesFamiliarity with intermediate (V-lookup/Pivot tables) and advanced (What-If, Power Query) Excel functionsFamiliarity with basic Power BI functions and ability to learn Articulate 360 software for standard work training creation

Education Requirements:

Currently enrolled in an accredited college/university as a rising junior or senior pursuing a bachelor's degree preferred in Integrated Supply Chain Management, IT, Engineering, Business or Materials Management
