Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree (Engineering Preferred)
  • 3+ years manufacturing & R&D sourcing,  planning and procurement
  • (defense, aerospace, automotive, or high-tech industries)
  • Must have sourced commodities: electronic components: AD converters, memory modules, microprocessors, and Delrin thermosplastics.
  • Experience performing Total Cost of Ownership (TCO) analysis
  • Hands on experience and oversight with:  selecting and purchasing electronic components
  • Be a strong  negotiator & track record with developing supplier relationships
  • Competency tracking orders, reviewing inventory levels, forecasting, quality assurance 
  • Track record driving continuous improvement
  • Experience with controlling costs, on-time delivery

Responsibilities:
  • Hands-on oversight of purchasing operations 
  • Manage, mentor, and develop a team of direct reports:  buyers and planners
  • Ensure shortages are avoided: (out of stock material, back orders and mitigate material lead-time issues) 
  • Evaluate obsolete materials and seek alternatives 
  • Negotiate costs based on current standard cost
  • Forecasting: Use data analysis to plan purchase releases 
  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) 
  • Review performance metrics and process outcomes  
  • Identify improvement opportunities and implement corrective actions
  • Create and execute resource optimization plans
  • Partner with sourcing team to maintain regulatory compliance across all site operations.
