JOB SUMMARY
Plans, organizes, coordinates and supervises the purchase of supplies, materials, equipment and services for the City through a Centralized Purchasing Department and Warehouse Distribution Center. Purchasing Manager insures that all purchases are made in accordance with the state and federal laws and the Purchasing Policy.
QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience:
High School Diploma and 6 years of state or local government purchasing experience. Associate Degree or Bachelor Degree in a Business-related field preferred.
Special Requirements:
Buyer Certification by NIGP or NPI required. Officer certification by NIGP or NPI in governmental purchasing preferred. Experience with all Microsoft Office products required. Possession of a valid class "C" Texas driver's license required.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
PHYSICAL DEMANDS
The work is sedentary. Requires ability to lift 50 lbs. Additionally, the following physical abilities are required: balancing, crouching, fingering, hearing, kneeling, lifting, mental acuity, reaching, repetitive motions, speaking, stooping, talking, visual acuity, and walking.
