Overview:
The Purchasing Manager at SERVPRO oversees all procurement activities supporting mitigation and reconstruction operations. This role is responsible for managing vendor relationships, negotiating pricing, and ensuring timely, cost-effective purchasing of materials, equipment, and services. The Purchasing Manager plays a critical role in maintaining project profitability—especially for reconstruction jobs—by aligning purchasing strategies with budgets, timelines, and quality standards.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Manage and maintain relationships with vendors, subcontractors, and suppliers 
  • Source, evaluate, and onboard new vendors to ensure quality, reliability, and competitive pricing 
  • Negotiate pricing, terms, and contracts to maximize cost savings and support gross profit goals 
  • Create, review, and track purchase orders to ensure accuracy and timely delivery of materials 
  • Collaborate with project managers, estimators, and operations teams to align purchasing with project scopes and budgets 
  • Monitor material costs and market trends to proactively manage expenses 
  • Support gross profit targets on reconstruction jobs through strategic purchasing and cost control 
  • Resolve vendor issues, including delays, quality concerns, and billing discrepancies 
  • Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing agreements, and vendor performance 
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, insurance requirements, and industry standards 
  • Identify and implement process improvements to increase efficiency and reduce costs 
  • Assist with inventory management and material forecasting as needed 
 


Qualifications (optional to include):


  • Experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management (construction or restoration industry preferred) 
  • Strong negotiation and vendor management skills 
  • Knowledge of construction materials, estimating, and job costing 
  • Excellent organizational and communication abilities 
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment
