The Purchasing Manager is responsible for leading all procurement activities for company, ensuring the timely and cost-effective acquisition of materials, equipment, and services required to support manufacturing, field installations, and company operations. This role manages supplier relationships, negotiates pricing, oversees inventory replenishment, coordinates logistics, and ensures all purchasing activities comply with company policies and budgets.
The Purchasing Manager works closely with Engineering, Project Management, Production, Warehouse, Accounting, and Field Services to ensure projects are delivered on schedule while maintaining the highest standards of quality, cost control, and customer service.
Manage all purchasing activities for mechanical, commercial, electrical, automation, and imported components.
Solicit and evaluate Requests for Quotation (RFQs) from multiple vendors.
Analyze quotations and negotiate pricing, lead times, delivery schedules, and commercial terms.
Select suppliers based on quality, price, delivery performance, and reliability.
Develop and maintain strong relationships with existing and prospective vendors.
Identify and qualify new suppliers to improve pricing, quality, and delivery performance.
Prepare and issue Purchase Orders (POs) following company approval procedures.
Manage purchasing activities within assigned approval authority.
Review engineering drawings, bills of materials (BOMs), and project requirements to ensure accurate procurement of materials and components.
Collaborate with Engineering and Production teams to clarify technical specifications and material requirements.
Communicate technical requirements and product specifications with vendors to ensure purchased materials and equipment meet project and quality expectations.
