Are you a dynamic, strategic thinker with a knack for negotiation and a keen eye for cost analysis? We're seeking a seasoned Purchasing Manager to join our team in the Manufacturing industry. This is a permanent role where you will be at the forefront of our procurement operations, playing a vital part in the smooth running of our business.

In this role, you will be responsible for leading and managing all aspects of our purchasing department, including supplier selection and negotiation, risk management, budget control, and strategic planning. You'll have the opportunity to work closely with other departments and make significant contributions to our overall supply chain management.

Responsibilities:

• Oversee and manage all activities of the purchasing department, ensuring efficient and effective operations.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies to ensure the company’s supply needs are met in a timely and cost-effective manner.
• Conduct regular supplier evaluations to ensure they meet the company’s standards and take corrective actions as necessary.
• Negotiate contracts, prices, timelines, and supply agreements with suppliers.
• Analyze market and delivery systems to assess present and future material availability and alternative sources of supply.
• Collaborate with other departments, such as production and engineering, to forecast future needs and plan for unexpected contingencies.
• Manage and mitigate risks associated with supply chain disruptions.
• Develop and maintain professional relationships with key suppliers and vendors.
• Continually improve purchasing methods/processes and drive down external spend.
• Prepare and manage the departmental budget.
• Ensure compliance with all safety, quality, and compliance standards related to procurement.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in a purchasing manager role or similar position in the manufacturing industry.
• Proven experience in procurement, supply chain management, supplier relationship management, strategic planning, negotiation, vendor management, and cost analysis.
• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to build and maintain relationships with suppliers and vendors.
• Excellent analytical skills with a solid understanding of market dynamics and sound business judgement.
• Ability to work with multiple stakeholders and lead cross-functional teams.
• Strong leadership skills with a track record of managing and developing teams.
• Exceptional problem-solving skills and the ability to make decisions under pressure.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Proficiency in relevant procurement software.
• Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) or Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) will be an added advantage.
