Purchasing Manager

Our client is a well-established, financially stable manufacturer seeking a Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations and drive strategic sourcing initiatives across the organization. This leadership role offers the opportunity to influence supplier strategy, develop a high-performing team, and contribute directly to operational performance and long-term business objectives. Reporting to the senior supply chain leadership team, the Purchasing Manager will oversee all aspects of purchasing, supplier management, contract negotiations, and procurement process improvement within a complex manufacturing environment. This position is ideal for a hands-on leader who can balance day-to-day execution with strategic planning, supplier relationship management, and continuous improvement initiatives.

The successful applicant will:

• Lead and develop a team of purchasing professionals, providing guidance, coaching, and performance management.
• Develop and execute procurement strategies that support operational goals, cost optimization, quality standards, and supply continuity.
• Manage supplier relationships, performance metrics, and contract negotiations to ensure competitive pricing and reliable service.
• Identify and implement strategic sourcing opportunities across direct materials, components, and purchased services.
• Collaborate closely with operations, engineering, production, quality, and finance teams to support business objectives.
• Drive supplier development initiatives and proactively manage supply chain risks.
• Evaluate make-versus-buy opportunities and support sourcing decisions for engineered and manufactured components.
• Lead continuous improvement efforts focused on procurement processes, inventory optimization, supplier performance, and cost reduction.
• Monitor market trends, supplier capabilities, and industry developments to identify opportunities and mitigate risks.
• Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and applicable regulatory requirements.
