LHH is assisting a mission-driven, multi-site non-profit healthcare organization in identifying an experienced
Purchasing Manager to lead procurement operations in Marin County. This role oversees sourcing, vendor management, and cost control for medical and general supplies, ensuring compliance with healthcare regulations and supporting clinical operations.
Key Responsibilities- Manage procurement of medical supplies, pharmaceuticals, and vaccines, along with equipment and services
- Oversee purchasing operations including POs, contracts, and sourcing strategy
- Lead vendor relationships, negotiations, and performance management
- Partner with GPOs to optimize pricing and contract utilization
- Drive cost savings initiatives, budget oversight, and financial analysis
- Ensure compliance with state/federal regulations and internal policies, especially related to healthcare procurement
- Maintain accurate documentation, reporting, and audit-ready records
- Identify and implement process improvements across procurement functions
Qualifications- Bachelor's degree in business, Supply Chain, Healthcare Administration, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 4-6+ years of procurement/purchasing experience, preferably in healthcare, clinic, or nonprofit setting
- Required: Experience purchasing pharmaceuticals, vaccines, or clinical supplies
- Experience with contract negotiation and GPOs strongly preferred
Core Skills- Strong vendor management and negotiation expertise
- Solid financial acumen (cost analysis, budgeting, forecasting)
- Knowledge of healthcare procurement compliance and regulations
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment
- Proficiency in procurement systems and reporting tools
- Excellent communication and stakeholder partnership skills
